3. Regulations on granting 5-year visa exemption certificates for foreigners entering Vietnam.
According to Article 10 of Decree No. 82/2015/ND-CP, individuals of Vietnamese origin, as well as those whose spouses, parents, or children are Vietnamese, will be exempted from long-term visas, a special visa policy granted to foreigners regardless of nationality if they meet the prescribed conditions. Those who meet this standard will be granted a visa exemption certificate valid for 5 years, and each time they enter Vietnam, they will be exempted from a visa for 3 months. This regulation encourages overseas Vietnamese and their families to reconnect with their roots and strengthens the connection between overseas Vietnamese and Vietnam.
